I love New Years. It's true. I'm a sucker for some resolutions and a little reflection time on the past.
This year, I was in Yangon - the perfect location for some self-reflection (see Shwedagon Pagoda below)
Due to language barriers, I misunderstood our temple guide and made an error in my Buddhism math. I thought I could make 1 wish * 4 Buddhas rather than 1 wish * 1 Buddha (in 4 different locations). Therefore, these 4 wishes have now become my 2013 theme song (at least until I loose concentration and ramble on to my next big "idea").
1. To find a creative outlet
2. To find a way to do positive work in my community and SEA
3. To love others better (specifically Alan)
4. To love myself better
PS - Lucky for everyone this year that passed me in Myanmar, I couldn't stop singing Auld Land Syne under my breath (despite moving from words to humming after "should old acquiescence be forgot"). It's nice that I still have friends.
