I live in the future.
Literally, I'm 15 hours ahead of San Francisco.
Figuratively, Singapore is Jetsonian.
When walking around the Marina Bay, it's like I'm in an urban planning model. It's almost too perfect to be true.
Gardens by the Bay is the most futuristic of structures.
You ascend an enormous escalator in the Marina Bay Sands mall, cross over into the $8B casino and then enter an outdoor fairyland.
Gardens by the Bay is 250 acres of perfectly manicured nature.
18 super trees, measuring 16 stories high, mimic the ecological functions of real trees (i.e., breathing in carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen). Eleven trees even harvest solar energy to light up at night.
The cloud forest dome replicates cool moist conditions found in tropical mountain regions, complete with a raging indoor waterfall.
The flower dome houses a mild, dry climate with flower displays that change every season.
No wonder it won world building of the year in 2012. It's unbelievable.
How can I get there w/o flying for 24 hours?

DeleteI also enjoyed the "gardens by the bay" alot during my time living in Singapore as well. I was there again last weekend with my gf, it is an amazing garden with mixture of both chinese cultures and western. More pics!
